    Crisp Butter Cookies


    List of Ingredients


    • 2 cups flour
    • 1/2 teapsoon baking soda
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1 cup butter at room temperature
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 large egg


    Instructions


    1. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.
    2. In a large bowl, cream teh butter and sugar. Beat in the egg. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
    3. Divide the dough in half. From each half into a log 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Wrap in waxed paper and chill for 4 hours.
    4. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Lightly grease 2 baking sheets.
    5. Cut the logs into 1/4-inch-thick slices and plave 1 inch apart on the prepared baking sheets
    6. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until lightly colored. Transfer to wire racks to cool.
