    crust:
    1 yellow cake mix (minus 2/3 cup)
    1/2 cup butter(softened)
    1 egg

    filling:
    2/3 cup reserved cake mix
    1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
    1 1/2 cups dark corn syrup
    1 t. vanilla
    3 eggs
    1 cup of pecans

    Grease bottom and sides of a 9x13 pan
    In lg.mixing bow. combine cake mix (minus 2/3 cup),butter and egg mix until crumbly and press into greased pan. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes.

    Mix together all filling ingredients, pour filling over partially baked crust and sprinkle pecans over the top (or mix in with other ingredients). Bake 30 more minutes until filling is set. Cool and cut into bars
