List of Ingredients
- 1 pound butter
- 2 T. water
- 2 C. white sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 cups sliced, toasted almonds
- 10 oz. chocolate, melted
Instructions
- Butter a 12" X 18" cookie sheet.
- In a very heavy kettle, heat the water, butter and sugar.
- Stir constantly until the mixture has turned from yellow to a whitish. Add the nuts.
- Continue boiling until mixture is 300 degrees. The closest it gets to 300 degrees, the easier it is to scorch.
- Pour mixture in the prepared pan.
- Before it cools, score well with a knife. When completely cool, they will break on this line.
- option 1: Dip each piece in chocolate, cool
- option 2: Top the toffee with melted chocolate and toasted alomonds.
