    Starbucks Roasted Apples with Tazo® Chai

    Makes 6 apples
    For the filling:
    6 baking apples
    ½ cup finely chopped walnuts, pecans or hazelnuts
    ½ cup brown sugar, firmly packed
    ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
    1 teaspoon orange zest
    For the Chai syrup:
    2 Tazo Chai Tea bags
    1½ cups boiling water
    ¼ cup honey

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 400°F.
    Core apples leaving bottom intact. Remove peel around top opening.
    Place apples in a shallow baking dish.
    To make Chai syrup: steep Tazo Chai Tea bags in boiling water for 5 minutes. Gently squeeze bag and remove. Stir in honey.
    To make filling: mix nuts, brown sugar, cinnamon and orange zest in a small bowl.
    Place filling inside and on top of each apple.
    Pour syrup in baking dish around apples.
    Bake apples uncovered until tender (approximately 30-35 minutes). Baste occasionally with liquid in pan.
    Cook until apples are tender.
    Serve apples (hot or room temperature) with the Tazo Chai Tea syrup remaining in the pan. Great with ice cream or lightly whipped cream.
