Red Velvet Cake
List of Ingredients
CAKE:
1 1/2 C sugar
2 C oil
2 eggs
1 tsp vinegar
2 oz red food coloring
2 1/2 C plain flour
1 tsp soda
1 tsp salt
2 T cocoa
1 C buttermilk
1 tsp vanilla
ICING:
1 stick butter
8 oz cream cheese, room temp.
1 tsp vanilla
1 box powdered sugar
1 C chopped nuts
Recipe
TO MAKE CAKE:
~ Cream sugar and oil.
~ Add eggs and beat well.
~ Add vinegar and food coloring, beat well.
~ Sift together the dry ingredients.
~ Add to wet mixture, alternating with the milk.
~ Add vanilla, beat well.
~ Pour into greased and floured pans.
~ Bake at 350 for 30-45 minutes.
TO MAKE ICING:
~ Cream butter and cheese.
~ Sift sugar.
~ Add sugar and vanilla, mix well.
~ Ice the cake.
~ Press nuts onto top and sides of cake.
