    Mounds Coconut Cake

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 Devil's Food cake mix
    • 3 eggs
    • 1-1/3 cups water
    • 1/2 cup applesauce
    • 2 Tbls. flour
    • TOPPING
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 1 cup milk
    • 24 large marshmallows
    • 1 (14oz) bag Mounds Sweetened Flaked Coconut
    • CHOCOLATE FROSTING
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 5 Tablespoons butter
    • 1/2 cup milk
    • 1 (12oz. bag semisweet chocolate chips.


    Instructions


    1. In mixer bowl beat cake mix, eggs, water applesauce and flour together, on low speed until moistened, the beat 2 minutes at med. speed.
    2. Pour int 13x9-inch greased and floured pan.
    3. Bake 350 degrees for 35 to 38 minutes.
    4. TOPPING
    5. Over low heat, in a sauce pan add milk, 1 cup sugar and marshmallows and melt. Add coconut.
    6. Poke about 25 holes in warm cake with a plastic straw. Pour this coconut mixture over cake. Cool completely and put cake in Refrigerator for 1 hour before frosting
    7. CHOCOLATE FROSTING
    8. In a saucepan, 1 cup sugar, butter and milk. Bring to a boil. Boil for 1 minute , while stirring. Remove from heat and add chocolate chips. Stir until all are melted. Pour over cold cake and spread.
