    Quick Crescent Pecan Pie Bars

    This recipe was in a 1979 Pillsbury Bake off Classics, it won the $25,000 prize.
    2 dozen bars


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 (8oz.) can Pillsbury Quick Crescent Dinner Rolls
    • 1 egg, beaten
    • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
    • 1/2 cup corn syrup
    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • 1 Tbls. margarine or butter, melted
    • 1/2 tsp. vanilla


    Instructions


    1. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly grease (not oil) 13x9-inch pan. Separate cresent dough into 2 large rectangles. Press rectangles over bottom and 1/2 inch up sides of greased pan to form crust; seal perforations. Bake crust at 375 degrees for 5 minutes.
    2. In a medium bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Pour over partially baked crust. Bake at 375 degrees for 18 to 22 minutes or until golden brown. Cool; cut into bars.
