    Savory Potato Gratin

    List of Ingredients


    • 4 or 5 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced
    • 3 to 4 medium onions, peeled and sliced
    • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    • 1 tsp. salt
    • 1/8 tsp. pepper
    • dash nutmeg (optional)
    • 1 tsp. dried thyme leaves
    • 3 Tbsp. chopped parsley
    • 1/2 cup whipping cream (evaporated milk would be fine too)
    • Paprika


    Instructions


    1. Saute onions in butter in a large skillet until soft and transparent.

    2. In a shallow baking dish, arrange potaotes and onions, sprinkling with seasonings in between layers for best flavor.

    3. Bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes

    4. Add whipping cream all ove top. Sprinkle with paprika

    5. Increase temperature to 400 degrees

    6. Bake for another 10 to 20 minutes until potatoes are soft and fork tender and gratin slightly browned on top.
