    Gingered Cranberry Sauce -- e-w

    This Sauce can be made a few days ahead of time.
    Serves: 10

    1/2 c. pure maple syrup – or – maple-flavored syrup
    1/2 c. water
    1/3 c. sugar – or – Splenda Granular
    2 T. lime juice
    1 12-oz. pkg. fresh cranberries
    1 tsp. finely chopped fresh ginger

    In saucepan, combine first 4 ingredients. Bring to boiling, stirring to dissolve sugar; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered for 3 minutes. Stir in cranberries and ginger. Simmer uncovered, about 5 minutes or until mixture starts to thicken, stirring occasionally. Cool slightly.

    One serving equals: 83 calories…0 fat…0 cholesterol…2 mg sodium…22 carbohydrate…2 gm fiber…0 protein +++EXC: 1.5 carbohydrate +++WWP: 1

    Cut the calories and carbohydrates by using Splenda in place of the sugar.
