Honey-Mulled Apple Cider (crockpot) -- w
Serves: 10
6 in. stick cinnamon broken
1 tsp. whole allspice
1 tsp. whole cloves
10 c. pasteurized apple cider or apple juice (2-1/2 qts.)
1/3 c. honey or packed light brown sugar
Make a spice bag with the cinnamon allspice and cloves*. In a 3-1/2 to 5 qt. slow cooker Combine spice bag, apple cider and honey.
Cover and cook on LOW for 5 -6 hours on or HIGH for 2-1/2 – 3 hours.
Remove spice bag and discard. To serve ladle cider into mugs.

* A spice bag allows you to remove the spices from simmered drinks in one easy motion. Start with a double-thick, 6-inch square of 100% cotton cheesecloth. Place spices in the center. Bring up the corners, and securely them together with clean kitchen string.
