    Pita Burgers -- e-w
    High Saturated Fat Alert! - 5gm
    Serves: 6

    2 c. shredded lettuce
    1 medium cucumber, seeded and chopped
    1 c. (8 oz.) reduced-fat plain yogurt
    1 T. sesame seeds, toasted
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1 garlic clove, minced
    1 tsp. dried oregano
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. dried basil
    1/4 tsp. dried rosemary, crushed
    1-1/2 lbs. lean ground beef
    6 whole pita bread, halved

    In a bowl, combine the first 5 ingredients; set aside. In another bowl, combine onion, garlic and seasonings; crumble beef over top and mix well. Shape into 6 patties. Broil or grill until meat is no longer pink. Cut burgers in half; place each in a pita half with lettuce mixture.

    One serving (2 filled pita halves) equals: 409 calories…12 gm fat (5 gm saturated)…44 mg cholesterol…731 mg sodium…40 gm carbohydrate…3 gm fiber…32 gm protein ++++ Exchanges: 3-1/2 lean meat…2-1/2 starch…1 fat +++WWP: 9
