    Fruit Compote Dessert

    2 medium tart apples, peeled
    2 medium fresh peaches, peeled and cubed
    2 c. unsweetened pineapple chunks
    1-1/4 c. unsweetened pineapple juice
    1/4 c. honey
    2 lemon slices (1/4-in. thick)
    1 cinnamon sick (3-1/2-in.)
    1 medium firm banana, thinly sliced

    Garnish:
    Whipped cream…sliced almonds…maraschino cherries

    Cut apples into 1/4-in. slices and then in half; place in a slow-cooker. Add the next 6 ingredients. Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours. Just before serving; stir in apple slices. Serve with a slotted spoon if desired. Garnish if desired.

    One 3/4-cup serving (w/o garnish) equals: 117 calories…2 mg sodium…0 cholesterol…30 gm carbohydrate…1 gm protein…trace fat ++++ Exchanges: 2 fruit
