    Steak w/Tuscan tomato Sauce -- w

    BH&G 5 Ingredient Slow Cooking
    Steak w/Tuscan tomato Sauce (crockpot) -- w
    Serve: 4

    1 lb. boneless beef round steak, cut 1-in. thick
    Cooking spray
    1 medium onion, sliced and separated into rings
    2 T. quick-cooking tapioca
    1 tsp. dried thyme, crushed
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
    1 14-1/2-oz. can diced tomatoes with basil, garlic and oregano, undrained

    Optional: Hot cooked rice or noodles

    Trim fat from meat. Cut meat into 4 serving size pieces. Lightly coat a nonstick skillet with cooking spray; heat over medium heat. Add meat, cook on both sides until brown. Set aside.

    Place onion in a 3-1/2 to4-qt. slow cooker. Sprinkle with tapioca, thyme, and pepper.
    Pour tomatoes over onions. Top with meat,

    Cover and cook on LOW for 8-10 hours – or – on HIGH for 4 to 5 hours. If desired serve with hot cooked noodles.

    One serving w/o optional items equals: 205 calories…2 gm fat (1 gm saturated)…48 mg cholesterol…593 mg sodium…16 gm carbohydrate…1 gm fiber…28 gm protein +++WWP:4
