Broccoli Sausage Simmer -- e-w
Serves: 8
1 lb. reduced-fat turkey Italian sausage, cut into 1/4-in. slices
1 medium bunch broccoli, cut into florets
1/2 c. sliced red onion
1 14-1/2-oz. can diced tomatoes, undrained
1 T. minced fresh basil – or – 1 tsp. dried basil
1 T. minced fresh parsley – or – 1 tsp. dried parsley flakes
1 tsp. sugar
3 c. cooked spiral pasta
In a large skillet, sauté sausage, broccoli and onion for 5-6 minutes or until broccoli is crisp-tender. Add the next 4 ingredients. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Add pasta and heat through.
