    Basil Turkey Burgers

    Serves: 4

    1/4 c. fat-free mayonnaise
    2 T. minced fresh basil, ‘divided’
    1/4 c. fat-free milk
    2 T. finely chopped onion
    1 T. dry bread crumbs
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    12 oz. lean ground turkey
    4 hamburger buns, split
    4 lettuce leaves
    1 large tomato, sliced

    In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise and 1 T. basil. Cover and refrigerate until serving. Coat grill rack with nonstick cooking spray before starting the grill. In a bowl, combine the next 5 ingredients and remaining basil. Crumble turkey over mixture and mix well. Shape into 4 patties.

    Grill, covered, over indirect medium heat for 5-6 minutes on each side or until meat is no longer pink and thermometer reads 165º. Serve on buns with lettuce, tomato and basil dressing.

    One serving (1 burger with 1 T. basil mayonnaise) equals: 305 calories…11 gm fat (4 gm saturated)…69 mg cholesterol…567 mg sodium…31 gm carbohydrate…2 gm fiber…21 gm protein ++++ Exchanges: 3 lean meat…2 starch
