    The Low Fat Way to Cook 1993
    Spicy Barbecue Sauce -- w
    Yield: 2 cups

    1 8-oz. can no-salt-added tomato sauce
    1/2 c. reduced-calorie catsup
    1/4 c. red wine vinegar
    1/4 c. low-sodium Worcestershire sauce
    2 T. grated onion
    1 T. dark brown sugar
    1 T. liquid smoke
    1 tsp. chili powder
    1 tsp. pepper
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 bay leaf

    Combine all ingredients in a medium sauce pan, stirring well. Bring mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently. Reduce heat, and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove and discard bay leaf.

    Use for basting meat or poultry while cooking.
