Lemon Dessert Sauce -- w
Yield 1-1/2 cups
1/2 c. sugar
2 T. cornstarch
1 c. water
2 tsp. grated lemon rind
1/3 fresh lemon juice
Combine sugar and cornstarch in a small saucepan. Gradually stir in water. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 1 minute. Remove from heat, stir in lemon rind and lemon juice.
Serve warm or chilled over angel food cake, fat-free pound cake or fresh fruit.
