    Pasta & Lentil Soup

    3-1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. uncooked small pasta (shells, elbow macaroni, etc.)
    1/4 c. dry lentils
    2 T. grated Parmesan cheese
    1 T. dried minced onion
    1 T. low-sodium chicken bouillon granules
    1-1/2 tsp. dried vegetable flakes
    1 tsp. dried parsley flakes
    1/2 tsp. dried oregano
    Dash garlic powder

    Combine all ingredients in a 2-qt. saucepan; bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 25-30 minutes or until pasta and lentils are tender.

    One 1-cup serving equals: 117 calories…58 mg sodium…2 mg cholesterol…20 gm carbohydrate…7 gm protein…1 gm fat ++++ Exchanges: 1 starch…1 vegetable…1/2 very lean meat
