    Tomato Turkey Soup - 14 -e-w

    6 c. chicken or turkey broth
    2 14-1/2-oz. cans diced tomatoes, undrained
    1/3 c. quick cooking barley
    1 T. dried parsley flakes
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    1/2 tsp. oregano
    1/2 tsp. dried basil
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    2 c. cubed cooked turkey
    1-1/2 c. sliced carrots
    1-1/2 c. sliced celery
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 c. chopped green pepper
    1 10-oz. pkg. frozen chopped okra

    In a large saucepan or Dutch oven combine the first 8 ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 50 minutes. Add turkey and vegetables. Cover and simmer 50 minutes longer or until vegetables are tender.

    One 1-cup serving equals: 85 calories…698 mg sodium…14 mg cholesterol…11 gm carbohydrate…5 gm protein…2 gm fat…3 gm fiber ++++ Exchanges: 1/2 starch…1/2 meat ++++ WWWP: 1
