LORI'S CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
This is our families favorite Chocolate Chip Cookie. We recommend that you double the recipe because they will not last long!
List of Ingredients
- 2/3 cup soft shortening (part butter)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- *1 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup cut-up nuts
- 6-oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips (about 1 1/4 cups)
- *For a softer, more rounded cooky, use 1 3/4 cups flour
Instructions
- Mix thoroughly the shortening, sugars, egg and vanilla.
- Sift together and stir in the flour, baking soda and salt.
- Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts.
- Drop rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake until delicately browned - cookies should still be soft.
- Cool slightly before removing from baking sheet.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
Final Comments
This will make about 3 to 4 dozen 2 inch cookies.
