    PINEAPPLE BARS


    List of Ingredients


    • FILLING:
    • 1/2 c. white sugar
    • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    • 1 (No. 2) can crushed pineapple and juice
    • CRUST:
    • 1 3/4 c. flour
    • 1 c. brown sugar
    • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
    • 1/2 tsp. salt
    • 1 1/2 c. rolled oats
    • 3/4 c. margarine, softened


    Instructions


    1. FOR FILLING: Combine white sugar and cornstarch in a medium saucepan; add pineapple.
    2. Cook over medium heat until thick; set aside.
    3. FOR CRUST: Combine flour, brown sugar, soda, salt and oats; cut in the margarine until mixture is crumbly.
    4. Press half of crust mixture in greased 9x13 inch pan;press down firmly.
    5. Spread the filling evenly on top; add remaining crust mixture and pat down as firmly as possible.
    6. BAKE at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.
    7. Cool; cut into bars.
