PINEAPPLE BARS
List of Ingredients
- FILLING:
- 1/2 c. white sugar
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 (No. 2) can crushed pineapple and juice
- CRUST:
- 1 3/4 c. flour
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c. rolled oats
- 3/4 c. margarine, softened
Instructions
- FOR FILLING: Combine white sugar and cornstarch in a medium saucepan; add pineapple.
- Cook over medium heat until thick; set aside.
- FOR CRUST: Combine flour, brown sugar, soda, salt and oats; cut in the margarine until mixture is crumbly.
- Press half of crust mixture in greased 9x13 inch pan;press down firmly.
- Spread the filling evenly on top; add remaining crust mixture and pat down as firmly as possible.
- BAKE at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.
- Cool; cut into bars.
