List of Ingredients
- 1 pound dried black beans
- 2 Medium onions, chopped
- 1 bunch parsley, chopped
- 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- ham hocks
- 2 large bay leaves
- 1/2 cup Red Rose or Burgundy wine (opt.)
Instructions
- Soak beans overnight...Drain..Add approx. 8 cups fresh water, begin cooking beans....At this time saute onions, parsley, and garlic in butter. Add to beans. Add ham hocks, little salt and pepper, add bay leaves. Cook for 4 hours. remove bay leaves. Add wine but do not cook any longer..
- Serve topped with sharp cheddar shredded cheese, a dolop of sour cream and chopped onions...
- Serve hot, is good served with corn bread sticks
