Fruit Cocktail Cake

Recipe Introduction
A very rich cake. A little piece goes along way. Best eaten before supper, so that you're sure to have room!
List of Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 cups fruit cocktail
- 2 cups flour
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup chopped pecans ( coarsley )
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 1/2 cup margarine
Instructions
- combine 1/2 cup sugar with eggs, fruit cocktail, flour and baking soda. Mix well, and pour into greased rectangular pan.
- Mix 3/4 cup brown sugar, and 1 cup chopped pecans. Crumble over top of above mixture.
- Bake at 325 for 40 minutes.
- Icing: Mix 1 1/2 cup sugar, 1 cup evaporated milk, and 1/2 cup margarine. Boil for 2 minutes, and pour over warm cake.
