Baking Powder Biscuits

2 cups flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. butter, margarine or shortening, chilled
1/2 cup milk
Recipe
Stir dry ingredients together.
Cut butter or shortening finey into dry ingredients.
Add liquid slowly, stirring only until it forms a soft ball. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and toss until sparingly covered with flour.
Knead lightly for 10 timea (fold over each time). Pat or roll out to 3/4" thick. Top of drinking glass is good size to cut biscuits.
Bake at 450º F 12 - 15 minutes until light golden brown.
Yields 8 to 12 biscuits.
