4-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp.baking powder
3 tbsp. sugar
1/2 cup each butter or margarine, milk, ice water
Recipe
Heat oven to 350� F. (175� C). Sift dry ingredients. Cut in butter until it resembles meal. Add liquid quickly (as for pie crust). Knead a few minutes, then flatten with a rolling pin (or put through pasta rollers) until it pops and blisters. Divide dough into 3 parts and fold it over each time before passing it through rollers. Cut with a small biscuit cutter. Pierce each biscuit several times with tines of a fork, (to allow air to escape). Bake 30 minutes, or until tops are a light golden color.
