    4-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp.baking powder
    3 tbsp. sugar
    1/2 cup each butter or margarine, milk, ice water

    Recipe




    Heat oven to 350º F. (175º C). Sift dry ingredients. Cut in butter until it resembles meal. Add liquid quickly (as for pie crust). Knead a few minutes, then flatten with a rolling pin (or put through pasta rollers) until it pops and blisters. Divide dough into 3 parts and fold it over each time before passing it through rollers. Cut with a small biscuit cutter. Pierce each biscuit several times with tines of a fork, (to allow air to escape). Bake 30 minutes, or until tops are a light golden color.
