Sourdough Buttermilk Biscuits

2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp. each salt, baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cup each butter or margarine, buttermilk
1 cup sourdough starter
enough melted butter or margarine
Recipe
Heat oven to 425ºF (220ºC). Sift flour, salt and baking powder. Using a pastry blender or fork, cut in butter until mixture resembles cornmeal. Mix buttermilk and starter with a fork, stir mixture until a soft dough is formed that cleans sides of bowl. Turn out onto floured surface and knead gently 30 seconds. Roll dough to form a circle 1/2" thick. Cut biscuits with round 3" cutter. Place in lightly-greased baking pan with sides touching. Brush tops with
melted butter. Cover and let rest 30 minutes. Bake 12 - 15 minutes. Makes 12-15 biscuits.
