    NEW ORLEANS FRENCH BREAD PUDDING

    List of Ingredients




    1 loaf of French bread
    1/2 cup of sugar
    6 eggs
    1 large can evp. milk
    1 cup raisins
    1 small apple
    3 Tablespoon vanilla
    cinnamon and butter

    Recipe



    1 loaf of French Breas 2 days old.
    Soak in cold water a few minutes. Squeeze out water
    and reserve.
    Place 1 1/2 cups of sugar in corning ware dish.
    Add 6 egg yolks, 1 at a time.
    Mix well after each egg. Add 1 can evp. milk and vanilla
    to this add soak well bread. Mix well with both hands.
    Add 1 small apple cut into pieces. Add 1 cup raisins.
    Mix well with hands.
    Sprinkle with cinnamon and dot with butter.
    Place in hot oven 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes. Till dry out. Beat egg whites stiff and add to pudding. Add 1 to 2 teaspoons sugar when beating.
    Leave in oven until lightly brown.

    BOURBON SAUCE FOR BREAD PUDDING OR RUM SAUCE

    1CUP SUGAR
    1/2 CUP BUTTER
    1 EGG BEATEN
    1 SMALL CAN EVP. MILK
    DASH SALT
    1 GIGER OF BOURBON OR RUM TO TASTE
    1 TEASPOON VANILLA

    COOK IN DOUBLE BOILER.
