Sausage Gravy for 8 People

1/2 pound pork breakfast sausage
1/2 tsp salt
1 stick of REAL butter
1 teaspoon of black pepper
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
3 1/4 cups whole milk
1/2 teaspoon white pepper
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
Recipe
Brown sausage in a large skillet, stirring until sausage crumbles. Drain, reserve 1/4 cup drippings in skillet. Set sausage aside. Add butter to drippings, cook over low heat until butter melts. Add flour, stir until smooth. Turn up heat to a low medium. Cook 10 minutes, stirring almost constantly. Gradually add in milk stirring constantly with a whip while turning up heat to medium. Stir regularly as gravy thickens and bubbles. Stir in sausage and seasonings. Cook, stirring regularly until heated through and through.
Note: Seasonings measurements are not exact. Start with these amounts and add more to taste.
