    Apple Pound Cake

    List of Ingredients

    4 eggs, separated
    2 cups of sugar
    1 1/2 cups of Chrisco Oil
    3 cups of plain flour
    1 teaspoon of vanilla
    3 cups of diced apples
    1 can - 3 1/2 oz. of coconut
    1 cup of raisins
    1 teaspoon of salt
    1 teaspoon of soda
    1 cup of chopped pecans or walnuts


    Recipe

    Mix the sugar, oil, apples, flour, salt, soda, nuts, and
    rasins together. Add the coconut and vanilla and stir well.
    Add the egg yolks and stir well. Beat the egg wites and
    fold into the batter. Bake for 1 1/2" hours at 350 degrees F.

    While the cake is hot, bring 1/2 stick of butter or margarine,
    1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 cup of milk, and 1/2 teaspoon
    of vanilla to a rolling boil. Pour over cake and cover
    tightly until cool. This makes a very moist cake.
