2 quarts cooked apple pulp
4 cups sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
Recipe
Core and quarter washed apples.
Place in large pot with some liquid to steam.
Stir often to prevent sticking or scorching..
Use siever to remove skins.
Put pulp through blender.
Measure apple pulp and add spices.
Cook for about 15 minutes to blend flavors.
Pour boiling hot butter in hot jars leaving 1/4 inch head space.
Wipe rim and place lids and rings.
Water bath in boiling water for 10 minutes for pints and quarts.
Yield is about 5 pints for this recipe.
You can and we do double or triple recipe.
We may add red food coloring if apples pulp is too pale.
