    4 slices bacon, cut into 1" pieces
    3/4 lb. (12 oz.) fusilli pasta
    2-1/4 cups milk
    1/2 tsp. turmeric
    2 blocks (3 oz. each) cream cheese
    2 cups finely shredded orange cheddar cheese
    6 oz. cherry tomatoes quartered
    to taste salt, pepper
    1/4 cup plain yogurt
    1 tbsp. apple cider vinegar
    1 head (small) romaine lettuce, thinly slice

    Recipe




    Heat oven to 375°F (185ºC). In a large skillet cook bacon over medium heat until crisp, about 10 minutes; drain. In a large pot of boiling, salted water cook pasta until almost al dente; drain. In same pot bring milk to a simmer over medium heat; whisk in turmeric and stir in cream cheese. Stir in cheddar cheese until melted. Add pasta, bacon and tomatoes; season with salt and pepper. Transfer to a 9x13" casserole and bake until heated through, about 20 minutes. In a large bowl, combine yogurt and vinegar; season with salt and pepper. Add lettuce and toss to coat. Serve salad with pasta.
    Note: Mineral-rich turmeric gives our mac 'n cheese that familiar neon glow and it’s natural. Swap nitrite free all-beef hot dogs for bacon and you’ve got another kid-friendly dish.
