    1 box brownie mix, mixed, baked according to pkg. directions
    Chocolate Crust:
    1-1/2 cups crushed vanilla wafers, about 45 cookies
    6 tbsp. each confectioners' sugar, cocoa powder
    1 stick butter or margarine, melted
    Cheesecake:
    4 pkg. (8 oz. each) cream cheese, room temperature
    1 cup sugar
    4 eggs
    to taste chocolate sundae syrups, bottle..or canned
    1 tsp. vanilla

    Make brownies and allow to cool. Reset oven to 350ºF (175ºC) Crust: Mix crust ingredients. Press mixture into a 9" springform pan. Bake 8 minutes and allow to cool slightly. Filling: Beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla. Gradually add eggs, 1 at a time. Pour batter into crust. Cube about 1/2 pan of brownies. Sprinkle pieces into batter and push down. Drizzle chocolate sundae syrup on top; with a butter knife, swirl gently to give it a marble effect.
