List of Ingredients




1/2 cup of shortening
1 1/2 cups of brown sugar
1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon of cloves
1 large egg

Beat until fluffy and add:

2 cups of flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1/4 cup of milk
2 cups of raw apples, finely chopped
1 cup of chopped pecans or walnuts


Recipe



Mix to a moderately thick dough. Using a tablespoon, spoon
into mounds on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at
400 degrees F. for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from baking
sheet and while still warm, spread with the vanilla glaze.

Vanilla Glaze:

1 cup of powdered sugar
1 teaspoon of butter, melted in 1 1/2 teaspoons of milk
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
