Old Fashioned Tuna, Noodle & Cheese Cass

1/2 lb (225g) fresh mushrooms, cleaned and sliced
2 Tbsp. (30mL) butter or margarine, unsalted
2 Tbsp. (30mL) flour
1 1/2 cups (360mL) low sodium chicken broth
1 Tbsp. (15mL) Mrs. Dash® Onion & Herb Seasoning Blend
8 Oz. (225g) pasta
6 Oz. (168g) tuna, canned in water
4 Oz. (115g) Swiss cheese, finely grated
vegetable cooking spray
Recipe
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
2. Spray a large skillet with cooking spray, add mushrooms, cook until mushrooms release juices.
3. Set aside.
4. Melt the butter or margarine in a medium saucepan over low heat.
5. Add flour and cook for 1 minute.
6. Add chicken broth and whisk until smooth.
7. Add Mrs. Dash® Onion & Herb, increase heat to medium and cook until sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
8. Remove from heat and set aside.
9. Meanwhile, cook pasta in boiling salted water according to package directions.
10. Drain and transfer to a bowl.
11. Add tuna to pasta, add mushrooms, sauce and 2/3 of grated cheese.
12. Mix well.
13. Spread tuna mixture into large casserole.
14. Cover with foil and bake in preheated oven 45 minutes or until bubbly.
15. Remove foil and sprinkle with remaining cheese.
16. Serve immediately.
17. For a little extra spice, an additional tablespoon of Mrs. Dash® Classic Italiano may be added prior to serving.
