    Candied Sweet Potatoes

    List of Ingredients

    Sweet potaoes---fresh ones
    Brown sugar.....light or dark..or both
    margarine

    Recipe


    Boil your sweet potatoes in water that you put 1 Tablespoon oil, or butter, or Crisco, or margarine. Believe me it makes cleaning the pot wonderful easy.....very good hint...

    When cool I peel them. I take a pkg of brown sugar, light or dark..most time, I take both...messy...but fun.
    I add enough water to make the brown sugar bit thick. I take the pan and put butter or margarine all around. I take the sweet potatoes and cut in half length wide.
    Dip in brown sugar and place in baking pan. You may put as many layers in it as you want.
    When you finish pour all the left over brown sugar all over the top. You may put more margarine or butter all over the top. Dot it.
    Put in oven 350 degrees. You can base it ever so often. I usually leave it around 3 hours. The syrup will look thicken. I do not do marshmallows on it.
