Chili Meat Ball Stew Cornmeal dumplings

List of Ingredients
- 1 lb. lean ground meat
- 1/2 Cup chopped onions
- 1/4 cup chopped green peppers
- 1/4 cup dry bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 4 T. beef - flavor Instant Bouillion
- 11/2 teaspoon Chili powder
- Veg. oil opt.
- 2 T. flour
- 3 cups water
- 1 16 oz. can stewed tomatoes- undrained
- 1 15 1/2 oz. can of kidney Beans- Joan of Arc is best kind.
- Corn meal dumplings
- Chopped parsley
- Corn Meal Dumplings.
- 1 1/2 cup Biscuit baking mix
- 1/2 cup yellow corn meal
- 3/4 Cup milk.
Instructions
- In med bowl combine meat, 1/2 t. Chili powder, 1/4 c. onion, milk, egg, green pepper, crumbs, 1 T. Bouillion mix well and shape into 16 meatballs.
- brown meat balls, remove. Cook the remaining onions until tender. Add flour, cook and stir until golden. Add Water, tomatoes, meatballs, remaining bouillion and chili powder. Bring to boil
- Cover and simmer 30 minutes. Meanwhile make dumplings.
- Stir beans into chili mixture. Add dumplings by spoonfuls onto boiling stew. Cook uncover 10 minutes cover.. Cook 10 more minutes.
- Cornmeal dumplings... Stir together, biscuit baking mix and cornmeal and the milk. I stir and drop by Tablespoon.
