7-MINUTE FROSTING

List of Ingredients




2 Egg whites
1½ cups granulated sugar
½ cup water*
1 tablesp. white corn syrup
½ teasp.salt
1 teasp. vanilla extract


Recipe




Combine egg whites,sugar, water corn syrup and salt
in double-boilertop.
With electric mixer at high speed, beat about 1 minute to blend;
then place over rapidly boiling and beat till
mixture holds a peakwhen the beater is raised
( this can take 7 minutes or more )
Remove from boiling water.
( For smoothest frosting, empty into large bowl )
Add vanilla and continue to beat till mixture
is stiff enough to spread.
*For crusty surface, reduce water to 1/3 cup
Chocolate 7 Minute Frosting
When frosting is done gently fold in
2 or 3 sq.cooled, melted unsweetened chocolate
( Do NOT beat in )
