Applesauce Raisin Cake with Nuts

Recipe Introduction

This was given to my Mother by Mrs. Bowlus 1939. She baked this a lot and we dearly loved it.

List of Ingredients

1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
2 cups applesauce
1 teaspoon baking soda- heaping
2 teaspoon cinnamon
2 teaspoon nutmeg
dash all spice
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped english walnuts
small box of seedless raisins
3 1/2 cups flour


Recipe

cream shortening and sugar.
add each ingredients. then add flour. Make sure you take out 2 Tablespoons flour and mix in the walnuts and rasins before you add them. Add the walnuts and raisins last.
Grease and flour 2 loaf pans. Bake 350 degrees and bake for 45 mintes.
makes 2 loaf pans.
