I have heard so much about this drink (LemonLiqueur ): This limoncello recipe was perfected by Tommaso Pante's mamma. Note that you start making it at least a week before you intend to serve it. Better if you make it a month ahead.
List of Ingredients
Servings: 1 litre
Ingredients:
1 litre 98% proof alcohol
800 grams sugar
8 medium-sized lemons
2 litres water
Recipe
Directions:
Peel lemons with a potato peeler, making sure to get as much of the yellow skin as possible and little of the white.
Pour the alcohol into an air-tight container with the lemon peels for 7-8 days. Shake it daily.
After the 7-8 days the peels are in the alcohol:
Boil the sugar in the water, making sure it is completely dissolved. Let it cool.
Add the sugary water and the alcohol/lemon liquid– no peels.
Bottle and put in the freezer. Best served after at least a month!
Take out, and let thaw.
Serve very cold. Buon Appetito!
