Disney's French Onion Soup

List of Ingredients





2 cups sliced Spanish onions
2 tsp. butter or margarine
2-3/4 cups water
2 cubes beef bouillon
1 cube chicken bouillon
1/8 tsp. white pepper
to taste salt
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1 tbsp. dry sherry or white wine
French bread, sliced 1 inch thick and toasted,
mozzarella cheese

Recipe




Sautè onions in butter in a heavy 6-cup saucepot until golden brown, stirring often. Add water, bouillon cubes, pepper, salt if needed, and garlic powder. Bring to a boil and simmer, covered, 10 - 15 minutes. Add sherry and cook 2 minutes longer. Serve topped with French bread and mozzarella cheese. Place under broiler long enough to melt cheese.
