    Maple Walnut Sticky Buns

    Source of Recipe

    Chel

    List of Ingredients

    1/4 cup butter
    1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
    1/4 cup maple syrup
    3/4 cup chopped walnuts
    1/2 cup raisins (optional)
    1 package dry active yeast
    1/4 cup granulated sugar
    3/4 teaspoon salt
    1/3 cup butter, softened
    2/3 cup warm water
    2 eggs
    additional maple syrup

    Recipe

To prepare pan, melt 1/4 cup butter in saucepan. Add brown sugar and 1/4 cup maple syrup. Heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Pour into 9 inch square pan. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup of the walnuts and raisins, if used. In large mixing bowl, stir together 3/4 cup flour, the yeast, granulated sugar and salt. Add 1/3 cup butter and warm water. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed, scraping bowl often. Add the eggs and 1/4 cup more of flour. Beat at high speed for 2 minutes. Stir enough flour to make a soft dough. Turn dough onto lightly floured board and knead 10 minutes. Roll dough to a 14x9 rectangle, spread lightly with maple syrup and sprinkle with remaining walnuts. Roll up into a 9 inch roll, sealing seam well. Cut into 1" slices and place into prepared pan, cut side up. Cover lightly with plastic wrap. Let rise in warm place for about an hour and fifteen minutes, or until light. Bake at 375 for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand in pan 10 minutes, then turn out on large plate to cool. **NOTE: Recipe does not take well with margarine, doubles well- use a 13x9 pan if preparing two batches at once.
