    This recipie also doubles as a gingerbread man cookie for the holidays with appropriate cutters.

    List of Ingredients




    2 Cups sugar
    1 Cup shortening
    3/4 Cup dark molasses
    2 eggs
    1 teas. salt
    1 teas. cloves
    2 teas. cinnamon
    1 Tbl. baking soda
    3/4 Cup hot water
    4 1/2 Cups flour

    Recipe



    Cream together shortning and sugar. Add molasses, eggs, salt and spices. Disolve baking soda in hot water and stir into batter. Slowly add flour to make soft dough. Chill. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Rool out dough and cut into shapes. Bake for 5-10 minutes.
