    Pineapple Pound Cake

    List of Ingredients




    ½ cup shortening
    2 sticks butter
    2¾ cup sugar
    6 large eggs
    3 cups plain flour
    1 tsp baking powder
    ¼ cup milk
    1 tsp vanilla
    15¼ oz. can crushed pineapple, divided

    TOPPING

    ¼ cup melted margarine
    1½ cup powdered sugar
    1 cup pineapple, drained

    Recipe



    Combine shortening, butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Sift together flour and baking powder. Gradually add to batter, along with milk and vanilla. Beat in ¾ cup undrained crushed pineapple. Place in greased and floured tube pan. Place and cold oven and bake at 325° for 1½ hours.

    TOPPING

    Mix together all ingredients and pour on top of cake while cake is hot.

    Let cake cool in pan about 10 minutes and remove from pan before adding topping.
