List of Ingredients
10 medium apples
3 C granulated sugar
2/3 C water
1 T lemon juice
1/4 t cream of tartar
6 drops red food coloring
Recipe
Wash and dry apples.. Remove stems and instert wooden skewers into stem end of each
apple. Set aside.
In heavy pan, combine, sugar, water, lemon juice,cream of tartar and food coloring; stir well, cover, and place over medium low heat until sugar has dissolved.
DON'T STIR. Remove cover, increase heat to med high and cook until candy thermometer
reaches hard crack stage (300 degrees)
Quickly dip apples into syrup, covering entire surface. Allow
excess to drip off. Place apples on lightly buttered baking sheets to cool. Store tightly in
plastic wrap.
