List of Ingredients
1 & 3/4 cups store brought herb seasoned bread stuffing (Partrige Farm)
1 small onion, chopped
1 celery rib, finely chopped
1/4 t. poultry seasoning
2 cups diced, cooked turkey
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup flour
1/4 t. salt
1/4 t. fresh ground black pepper
2 cups good, fresh chicken stock (hot)
3 large eggs
Pimento Sauce (optional)
One half of a can of condensed cream of mushroom soup
1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup chopped pimientoRecipe
PREHEAT oven to 325
Mix together the bread stuffing, onion, celery and poultry seasoning, then sprinkle over the bottom of a meduim sized baking disk. Place the diced turkey over the top seasoning mix.
In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat, then add the flour, salt, pepper and stir for about a minute until thickened, then remove from the fire.
In a small bowl beat the eggs and then add a small amount of the hot chicken stock, stirring constantly, then add the eggs to the stock, stirring constantly until well mixed and smooth.
Pour the sauce over the turkey & dressing mixture and bake until it turns into custard, about 45 minutes or so.
Pimento Sauce:In another pan, combine the soup, nilk, sour cream and pimiento and stir over medium heat until well blended and hot.
TO SERVE:
Cut the turkey dressing into squares and top each piece with the pimiento sauce.
