    Sherry Ham

    List of Ingredients


    • Beals or Peanut City Ham (about 13 lbs.)
    • Brown sugar
    • Whole cloves
    • 1 cup dry sherry (Gallo Pale Dry Cocktail Sherry), not cooking sherry


    Instructions


    1. Cut off hock end of ham. Soak ham overnight.

    2. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

    3. Wash ham and discard soaking water.

    4. Bring ham to a boil.

    5. Simmer ham for 30 mins. per lb.

    6. Take ham up and cut off fat and skin.

    7. Score ham.

    8. Rub ham with brown sugar.

    9. Put about 6 cloves into score crosses.

    10. Put in oven and cook about 20 mins.

    11. Remove from oven.

    12. Pour 1 cup dry sherry over ham.

    13. Put in oven and cook 20 more mins.

    14. Remove from oven, cool and slice.
