Caramel Apple Cake

List of Ingredients
- 3 - 4 Granny Smith apples
- 3 T. sugar
- 1 t. cinnamon
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. oil
- 4 eggs
- 1/4 c. orange juice
- 2 t. vanilla
- 3 c. flour
- 1 T. baking powder
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1/2 c. nuts, chopped
- 16 caramels
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Peel and slice apples. Mix with 3 T. sugar and cinnamon, set aside. Cut each caramel in eight pieces.
- Mix together 2 cups sugar and oil until smooth. Add eggs, orange juice and vanilla. Add dry ingredients and nuts, mix well.
- Pour half of the batter in a greased and floured bundt or tube pan. Top with half of the apples and caramels. Repeat.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 75 minutes.
- ICING:1/3 c. butter 1 c. brown sugar2-1/2 c. powdered sugar1/4 c. milk1/2 t. vanilladash of salt
- Melt butter and brown sugar. Add powdered sugar alternately with milk. Add vanilla and salt. Beat. Spread on cooled cake.
