Cherry Crumble

2-1/2 c. flour
1-1/4 c. sugar
1/2 t. salt
3/4 c. butter, softened
2 (16 oz.) cans sour pitted cherries - reserve juice
SAUCE:
1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 t. salt
Reserved juice
1 tbsp. butter
3 drops red food coloring
1/4 t. almond extractRecipe
In a large bowl combine first four ingredients, blend until crumbly. Press 2-1/2 cups into an ungreased 9x13 inch pan. Spoon well drained cherries evenly over crumbs, sprinkle with remaining crmbs. Bake 30 minutes at 350°. Top with warm sauce.
SAUCE:
In a saucepan, combine first three sauce ingredients. Stir in juice, butter and food coloring. Cook until thickened and clear, stirring constantly. Stir in flavoring.
