Grannys Cornbread
2 cups yellow corn meal
2 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
8 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 cups milk
2 eggs
1/2 cup white Crisco shorteningRecipe
Measure crisco and place in a 9 X 13 inch cake pan and place it in a 400 degree oven to melt.
Beat the corn meal, flour, sugar, baking powder, salt milk and eggs together until smooth. Add the melted shortening to the mixture and mix well. Pour back into the 9X13 pan and bake at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes.
