    List of Ingredients






    2 cups sugar
    1 cup butter
    2 eggs
    1 tbsp. cocoa (if desired to darken color)
    Make a paste with vinegar
    2-1/2 cups cake flour
    1 cup buttermilk
    2 1-oz. red food coloring
    1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
    1 tsp. salt
    1-1/2 tsp. soda

    Recipe





    Cream the butter and sugar, add eggs and beat until fluffy. Add cocoa, mix well. Sift flour, soda and salt together. Add the flour, alternating with the buttermilk. Add food coloring and vanilla. Put equal amounts into 3 greased cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees until done (time may vary according to the weather).

    Icing:
    Cream together 1 stick butter, 1 8-oz. cream cheese, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1 box powdered sugar. Blend well, then add 1 cup chopped pecans.
